Compensation method for performance degradation of optically addressed spatial light modulator induced by CW laser

Abstract In this paper, we propose an effective method to compensate for the performance degradation of optically addressed spatial light modulators (OASLMs). The thermal deposition problem usually leads on-off ratio reduction amplitude OASLM, so it is difficult achieve better results in high-power laser systems. Through analysis laser-induced temperature rise model and liquid crystal layer voltage model, found that reducing driving valve increasing current optical writing module can decrease on–off caused by rise. This result effectively utilizing photoconductive effect Bi 12 SiO 20 (BSO) crystal. experimental verify feasibility proposed increase withstand power amplitude-only OASLM about a factor 2.5.
